San Fidel is a tiny village about an hour west of Albuquerque, NM and about 15 minutes east of Grants.  San Fidel was once a prosperous stop along Route 66 with a number of shops, service stations, and cafes.  Today, things are pretty quiet.  There's a post office that's been here since 1919, the Saint Joseph Mission School with some 65 students, gallery66.us, and not too much else.  The population is about 220.  Sometimes we feel outnumbered by the dogs.  The picture above, featuring Chicago based artist Michaela Judkins,  shows you a view of main street during rush hour (if you look carefully, you can see a car).  Life here is pretty leisurely, but check out our Nearby Attractions page.  You'll be surprised how much there is to do and see within a short drive of San Fidel.
